I bought a new mattress and box spring. I can't believe that I paid more for the set than I have paid for some of the cars I've owned in the past! Clearly, I've spoiled myself and yes, I felt guilty about it. I never knew that shopping for a mattress was so hard. I don't think I've ever bought a mattress before, myself anyway. I did get one about 15 years ago, but my boyfriend at the time basically picked it out and gave it to me as a gift. This time though, I was hemming and a hawin' between the Kingsdown and the Sealy. Finally went with the Kingsdown. Next day delivery from Sleepy's. I couldn't believe it! However, I purchased the cover that you need to keep your warranty intact and they forgot to give me that. But, they are supposed to be dropping it off tomorrow. Tonight, on the advise of the nice lady at Sleepy's, I'll be slipping with garbage bags lining the bed under the sheet. Classy, eh?! *G*
I cannot believe how high this bed is! You just about need a ladder. D'Artagan wouldn't even make a go of it, he's smart, he knew better. Aeryn Sun is part antelope, so she'd didn't have any problems making her way up with one leap.
We installed a motion detector double spot light today out back. We've been needing a light in the back for some time now. Our backyard is semi wooded and this makes it a little easier to see where the pups, actually D'Artagnan is off to at night. The year is all fenced, but I still wanted a light out there. Many thanks to the nice guy at Lowe's that took the time to help me out and give me some electrical pointers!
John called and asked if it would be okay to start the roof on Tuesday instead of Monday. So Tuesday it is.
I have a ton of notes that I have to make sense of from the class last week. The class was great. I still don't know how people work days though, makes me so tired all day to have to be up that early.
Today was my mother's birthday. Happy Birthday Mom! We went and planted flowers at her and my father's grave. I missed her today. Memories are often bittersweet, I'm not sure I'll ever understand her. But, I missed the happy her.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
