Nigel's Carnival entry

At the moment I am pondering what I shall do with my weekend.
My blog is due for another post; I need a good, long walk on the nature trails, and I am in desperate need of a trim.
Where does my time go?
The pundits say that the dog is unaware of time. Be it a minute or an hour, it is just a wag of a tail.
How I wish that were true!
My day is consumed with obligations and a personal quest for Enlightenment. Will I ever find my role in life? Will the perfect toy find its way into my paws? How can I convince my family that biscuits should be made from scratch, no matter the time constraints?
I am the owner of three dog beds; one is the office, another on my chair in the living room and the third in the family room. None of these has ever provided me with the perfect nap. That can only be had when I am in the lap of one of my humans, and the whole family —including Gimlet and Joe the Cat —are together in contemplation at the end of a long and luxurious day.
You see, I do know the value of time, and it is not to be wasted.
Enjoy yourselves now.

Nigel, you are a very philosophical little dog. You take the long view, which is rare in the canine species.
The only improvement I can see to your end of a busy day would be the inclusion of a steaming hot cat pie cooling in a window.
