ABC has signed David Boreanaz to star in its newest drama project based on the life and times of Jack Ballantine, undercover cop in the world of hired assassins (Warner Bros. TV/Tannenbaum Co.), per Hollywood Reporter.

UPN has ordered four more scripts for both Veronica Mars (yeah!) and Kevin Hill.

Show takes on 'Pleasant' assignment

Grant Show is returning to Fox. The former "Melrose Place" hunk has been tapped to star in the network's upcoming drama series "Point Pleasant," from 20th Century Fox TV and Original TV. "Pleasant" centers on a beachside community that is turned upside down when a girl (Elisabeth Harnois) with mysterious powers washes ashore. Show will play an ominous presence who brings out the darkest impulses of her and the town's residents. The role, which was smalli the original pilot, has been recast and significantly expanded with Grant now on board. Show, who recently starred in 20th TV's pilot "Mystery Girl" for UPN, will next be seen in Lifetime's sequel to "Sex and the Single Mom." He's repped by Innovative Artists. (Staff report)
