Unbelievable

Why don't people ask before they jump to conclusions?

A woman who had been doing transports for a rescue in North Carolina decided that she'd take it upon herself to be the "voice of the voiceless" and on behalf of the animals, complained to the city manager about the way she felt the animals were being mistreated, apparently because a couple of dogs that she'd participated in transporting had passed away some time after reaching their destination. This prompted the city manager to stop all transports for the time being and to order the gassing, yes that's right gassing of a number of animals this morning.

It's bad enough that they are killing these poor animals because of this idiot woman, on top of it, they are still using gas instead of the more humane (and more expensive) method of an injection. All because one idiot didn't realize that the animals can't possibly *all* be in perfect health. If she wanted animals in perfect health then she should have volunteered her time to a breeder.

She further posted that the woman who organizes the transports was "on an ego trip to get animals transported" Yeah her! An ego trip? I don't care what kind of ego she has or hasn't, she gets the animals out and that's the true bottom line.

Animals coming from some shelters down south are not coming from the best of conditions. There's no way you can expect all of these animals to survive with all that's going against them. Removing them from that environment was at least giving them a fighting chance. She's robbed them of that chance now unless the city manager can see his way to changing things and fast. But, it's already too late for the ones this morning.

Please support your local rescues. Even if its just dropping off some blankets or towels or a box of treats. A few dollars goes a long way.

You'll be interested in this. Nin and I are trying to adopt a blind kitten. We didn't set out to adopt him, but I think we could offer a stable home for a special needs kitty. We figured Sparrow could use a little buddy and I feel bad leaving her while we're on vacation.

Thanks Ithy and Mary. This has just been terrible today. It looks like the only puppies that will be making it out are the three that I had requested and Laura pulled on Tuesday morning and had taken to her home. I just feel terrible though. I wish I had pulled more of them. The three that we had pulled are so far, are the last ones to make it out for transport.

Ithy - That's wonderful!! I'm sure Sparrow will make a great guide cat!
