So - it looks like it's going to be Taking You Home. It's appropriate for us. I love Maine, I loved living there. This was the man that I was going to marry almost 30 years ago, I can still distinctly remember saying to him then, "well, then let's go home now." But, he was in the middle of fishing and needed to go back out and that's when I got the cold feet and packed up and disappeared on him! And there's been numerous jokes about my name. I hyphenated it the first time and it's still that way, making my name 2 short of the alphabet. Good thing I don't have a middle name! I like the fact that seeing how this is a second marriage for both of us, that it says, "I had a good life before you came." We did, we have great children and I'd never want anything to diminish that fact. We had a good life and now we have each other.
Lyrics
Taking you home - (don henley/stan lynch/stuart brawley)
I had a good life
Before you came
I had my friends and my freedom
I had my name
Still there was sorrow and emptiness
稚il you made me glad
Oh, in this love I found strength I never knew I had
1st chorus:
And this love
Is like nothing I have ever known
Take my hand, love
I知 taking you home
Taking you home
There were days, lonely days
When the world, wouldn稚 throw me a crumb, no no
But I kept on believing
That this day would come
And this love
Is like nothing I have ever known, no no baby
Take my hand love
I知 taking you home
I知 taking you, home
Where we can be with the ones who really care
Home, where we can grow together
Keep you in, my heart forever
Instrumental (keyboard)
2nd chorus:
Oh and this love
Is like nothing I have ever known, oh no no baby
Take my hand love
I知 taking you home
3rd chorus:
Oh this love
Is like nothing I have ever known, no no baby
Take my hand
I知 taking you home
I知 taking you, home
Yes I am, mm, mm, mm, hey baby, hey baby
Taking you home
Short instrumental w/background vocals
I知 taking you home baby
I知 taking you home.
End
Speaking of home :) Are you going to be moving there, or is he moving to your neck of the woods?
