Thank you so much for dedicating this to Ike. It means a lot to know that there are other animal lovers besides us. Ike was like a kid to us, and it has been one hard week. Tomorrow he would have been three years old.

We have been trying all week long to try to keep his brother Henry from not getting depressed. He has not been eating like he should, and the vet says that we need to make sure that he is not grieving too much.

All of our animals are like our kids. Just hope that we don't have to go through this again anytime soon.

Thanks again from me and all my criters.

We have a new dog - Beau! Beau is a seven-year old beagle that we got from a rescue organization in Sonoma. He's bitchin'!

Just to answer your question:
I feed my dog once a day, dry dog food, two scoops full, about 4 cups???. Then, every few days, I'll give her other stuff like leftovers, if it's meat, or canned dog food once in a while too, for variety. She's about 40 pounds and has the run of the yard, and I walk her 5 out of 7 days of the week, so pretty active.

Thanks Karolyn! I really think I've been feeding these guys too much and lately I've backed off to half a can. Moose alone was eating a can and 3 cups. They're very active, they have a nice big yard that they play race track in!

Stacy Lee - again, I'm so, so sorry for your loss. It's so painful. I hope Henry is doing better and you guys too. Ike was a beautiful dog and I thank you again for sharing him with us. Hugs :)

Donavan, the new puppy from the shelter, eats four times a day and he gets about 1/2 a cup. Since he was dumped on a street corner rather than brought in, we don't know how old he is, just that he's pretty young.
He's about ready to switch to three feedings a day, slightly more than 1/2 each (dry, but we moisten it).

The Big Dog, Zeus, gets fed twice a day, about 2 cups each time, dry food. He's a huge dog (at over 90 pounds, and he's not overweight), and we have lots of property for the dogs to exercise on, as well as stairs they like to race up and down on.
