Men

Not many men have real staying power with me, there's really just a few that have managed to stay on the top. Cary Grant, Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Madsen. The latter two aren't really all that famous. RDA is probably best known for his stint as MacGyver and Madsen for portraying the evil Mr Blonde in Reservior Dogs. He plays a bad guy yet again in Kill Bill Vol. 2, also directed by Quentin Tarantino. I've often wondered if Tarantino's moter was a Dark Shadows fan. How old is he anyway. Oh well, off track there. There's something about Madsen....
madsen.jpg

Yes, yes, so he's tall and handsome, broody and mysterious with that bad boy air that attracts idiots like me all the time, but there's something else. Maybe it's the goofy smile or the edge of sadness mixed with life's resignation that catches my heart. He's a keeper alright.

I was talking to a friend the other night and I said that there are some men that I find attractive, yet I'm not attracted to them. Then there's the ones that I am very attracted to, but, I like them more than I'm attracted to them and therefore not willing to risk the friendship.

I wish I was smart enough to like the right people.

If you'd like check out a good article on Michael Madsen

Oh Yeah!

Got my post and temporary crown *without* the aid of any type of anesthesia! Yes, yes, yes! Probably one of the best days at the dentist I'ver ever had. Yeah, my gums are a little sore and my tongue got nicked once, but I'm not numb from head to toe and I don't have that queasy feeling. I am going to bed now so I can play cops and robbers later :)

Just "riding"

It's beautiful out! The bushes are finally blooming, people are working on their lawns, it's just gorgeous.

I'm debating about whether or not I want to go get the post put in for my root canal today. It's supposed to be at 3, but I haven't been to bed yet.

I went out on the road last night, it's been ages since I could go out with all the training I've been doing. It was a kick, no it was a terrific break. I laughed, I had fun, I'm kicking myself over some things, but it probably wouldn't be me if I didn't. I'm not sure I ever realized how bad I really was when I was younger. Im probably still just as bad, just better at concealing it, or hiding from it.

I don't feel my age, about the oldest I've felt is 35. I'm shocked sometimes when I remember that I'm not 35, They say that inside we never really feel much older than 21, it's true really. There's really only one grown up trait that I wished I'd achieved and that was a knack for handling money, I suck at it.

There was a man standing along the roadway today with a big sign that said "Will Work For Food", I wanted to buy him a sandwich, but I didn't, I figured there must be a pride issue going on, this guy didn't want a handout, he wanted to work for his meal.

Men and women aren't really all that different and it's nice to see that some men are figuring that out.

I like what some people bring out in me. But, I wonder sometimes if I'm willing to make the effort as much anymore.

I'm reminded of a line from a song - "Once again I'm riding shotgun to everything that's on my mind."

I've got a lot of things on my mind

Christian Kane

He'll be on Las Vegas next week (Monday) and his band Kane will be in concert in Chicago May 15th, Pickwick Theatre. I'm thinking I may like his singing even more than his acting!

If you have had a chance, take a listen over at their website -

Very Moving Post

It’s the day that brought me back to life. It’s the 9th of April and I’m free, and they will not steel my joy again and they will not silence me. A year ago at the same date, the thieves and criminals prevented me from celebrating my freedom in the open air, and today thieves, criminals and fanatics are doing the same, but they will not steal my happiness that is making my soul fly and dance with joy and they can’t stop this.
A year ago, words failed me as I met the 1st American soldier, and I still remember his name, “corporal, Adam” and all I could utter was “thank you!” how could I ever put my whole life in few words? How could I have thanked that soldier enough? How could I have told him what it meant to me to see him and his comrades-who brought me back to life- at last? Thank you Adam, Lieutenant Antonio, Captain Brian Curtis and all the coalition soldiers who I can’t remember their names, and those I never met.

No matter which side you stand on, please go and read this entire moving post at Iraq The Model

Lost Dog Update

Posted this morning

We are happy to report that Bullet was found this morning and should be back
home safe and sound right now. The police called to say they had him. He has
a vet appointment to make sure there isn't any injury as the result of the car
accident, but he appears to be fine.

So a nice outcome for this holiday weekend. The police departments of both
Marlboro and Manalpan were great.

Getting Snarky for a Minute

Why is it that some people expect other people to offer them good thoughts etc when they never seem to be able to wish any for anyone else? They only seem to show up when they want something. I don't wish them ill, but it's hard to offer good wishes to them when I'd rather send them to others who seem far more caring and deserving.

Missing Dog in NJ - was involved in a car accident

I know some people from the shore area stop here, so I thought I'd post this just in case

Contact Mary Kay at 732-446-5622

URGENT: Bullet is a neutered male, Mostly Black Shepherd who was in the car with his owners when they were in a terrible car accident on UNION HILL ROAD, near the Covered Bridge Shopping Center last night (4/7). The owners were taken to the hospital and Bullet got out of the car. He is wearing his collar and leash. He was chased by some of the rescue workers and ended up in Marlboro Greens development off of Rt 9. Bullet was just recently adopted to this wonderful family and he is a special needs dog. He is very frightened of people and will not come to anyone. He was spotted this morning near the walking path behind the club house of Marlboro Greens which runs near Covered Bridge Development. If anyone spots him, please call us immediately. One of his owners is out of the hospital and desperately trying to find him. We posted about 100 signs in the area this afternoon. Ran an ad in the Asbury Park Press and spoke to a reporter who might do a story. Please help bring Bullet home, we don't know if he was injured in the accident, but we do know that he is very scared. He has all his shots and is not agressive only frightened. Please call Mary Kay at 732-446-5622 (owner) if no answer please call Carol at 732-580-9111.

The police of both Marlboro and Manalapan have been very helpful so if you just want to call the police or animal control that would also be fine. I just don't want to see him hit by a car on Route 9 after surviving the accident.

Survivor

I've been so busy with the other house that I've pretty much neglected my blog here, so let me get back to discussing trivial things like Survivor! *G*

From NJ.com

At what point did "Survivor: All-Stars" turn into the series' Bizarro World edition? Rupert is incompetent, Amber has a personality, most of the great players from previous seasons are long gone and Boston Rob is suddenly so powerful that he can reach over into the other tribe and tell them how to vote? This is a guy whose previous claim to fame was leading the laziest, most inept team in "Survivor" history, and now he's displaying more muscle than Colby and more savvy than Richard Hatch.

I'm finding it really interesting to watch the relationship between Rob and Amber evolve. Rob was so upset by the turn of events and concerned about Amber, who was fine, she took it in stride and faced the challenge with a smile on her face. The old cliches about a woman making a man weak and being his downfall came to mind, Rob seemed to stop playing the game and went into full rescue mode without thinking through the consequences. Although I think he thought he was displaying strength to the other team, I think he's exposed his weakness. I don't want to see him voted off. I couldn't wait the first time, I couldn't stand him, but his vulnerabilty this time has been refreshing and I like seeing this relationship between him and Amber develop.

Shi Ann (sp) - I think she whines far more than Jerri ever did and does less work, her only saving grace was linking up with Cathy.

Rupert - he still just annoys me and I think Jerri exposed him for the ego manic that he can be.

Lex- wow, the man takes honesty to a whole new level and I admire it, although I'm not sure it's the best strategy. he's the type of person I like though, willing to tell you to your face.

Alicia - I'm impressed she's managed to get her points across without having to get in a brawl every time.

The merge should be interesting. I think Rob's going to have to back peddle quite a bit to regain his "authority".

My Birthday

present.jpg

This (in the full size version) was waiting for me on the desktop this morning. With the exception of the the two cuties in the middle, the rest of those cuties we've been lucky enough to have spend the night with us before they went on to their forever homes. The two cuties in the middle are home, that's D'Artagnan (black) and Aeryn Sun.

Thank you Garrett!

Right after that, the door bell rang and it was a delivery of the most beautiful roses in a vase with baby's breath and ferns and a box of chocolates! Thank you again, Garrett!!

Then the door bell rang again and it was my Jaded Jenny doll! I won her (finally) on E-Bay.

Pictures to follow :) but, of course!
