Part Four
Well, there weren't any entries for this week's Carnival. Here are some puppy links that I've come up with that I thought were interesting.
If you'd like to send a pup link in, please do, I'll be happy to post it, I'd like to keep the Carnival running! There *has* to be more dog lovers out there!
NY Times article on Rooming with big dogs
There are certain psyches that take hold with owning a large dog. There is the "only a big dog is a real dog" attitude, which owners of smaller dogs abhor. There's the vicarious love of big-dog attention. "I once counted 40 inquiries in an hour, but that's when the tourists are here," said Arnold Lebow, Ego's other owner.

Seems Rance has been "discovered" by the media. "He" made Drudge this morning with this article
"With no disrespect intended, media in general seldom if ever permits a person, be he actor or President, to present himself the way he would like -- and certainly not to the degree a blog does," Rance said. "Still, there's a megabyte or two's worth of irony in my situation," he said.
I had him/her blogrolled already, I think it's an interesting blog.

Here we are......it's Friday and I don't have any entries for this week's Carnival!
There have to be more than a handful of dog lovers out there, aren't there??
I have a few interesting links that I've found about dogs, but that's it so far.....
Excerpts from an interview with Ian Kerner, sex therapist and author of She Comes First: The Thinking Man’s Guide to Pleasuring a Woman.
Ian Kerner: I think most guys know more about what’s under the hood of a car than under the hood of a clitoris. I want to see men shift their behaviors and become ‘cliterate.’
and more....
IK: If I could, I’d declare June Sexual Cliteracy Month, make a holiday out of it.

From the mouths of babes....
Bob Geldof and Paula Yates's daughter Peaches Honeyblossom has warned Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin that their newborn daughter Apple faces bullying and taunting for having such an unusual, fruity name. Peaches, 13, says, "At primary school I got teased a lot, just as Apple will. Fellow pupils used to shout, 'Oi, Peaches, are you parents bananas?'"
New Jersey Motor Handbook
New Regulations in the New Jersey Registry of Motor Vehicle's 2004 Handbook:
1. Turn signals will give away your next move. A confident New Jersey Driver avoids using them.
2. Under no circumstance should you maintain a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, because the space will be filled in by somebody else, putting you in an even more dangerous situation.
3. The faster you drive through a red light, the less chance you have of getting hit.
4. WARNING! Never come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No one expects it and it will result in your being rear-ended.
5. Never get in the way of an older car that needs extensive bodywork, especially with PA, NY or Del plates. With no insurance, the other operator probably has nothing to lose.
6. Braking is to be done as hard and late as possible to ensure that your ABS kicks in, giving a vigorous, foot massage as the brake pedal violently pulsates. For those of you without ABS, it's a chance to strengthen your leg muscles.
7. Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right. It's a good way to prepare other drivers entering the highway.
8. Speed limits are arbitrary figures; given only as a suggestion and are not enforceable in New Jersey during rush hour.
9. Just because you're in the left lane and have no room to speed up or move over doesn't mean that a New York driver flashing his high beams behind you doesn't think he can go faster in your spot.
10. Always brake and rubberneck when you see an accident or even someone changing a tire. This is seen as a sign of respect for the victim.
11. Learn to swerve abruptly without signaling. New Jersey is the home of high-speed slalom-driving thanks to the Department of Public Works, which puts potholes in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them alert.
12. It is tradition in New Jersey to honk your horn at cars in front of you that do not move three milliseconds after the light turns green.
13. To avoid injury in the event of a collision or rollover, it is important to exit your vehicle thru the windshield right away. Wearing your seat belt will only impede your hi-velocity escape from danger.
14. Remember that the goal of every New Jersey driver is to get ahead of the pack by whatever means necessary.
15. In New Jersey, 'flipping the bird' is considered a polite salute. This gesture should always be returned.
Thank You,
The New Jersey Registrar of Motor Vehicles

Mickey in Chicago!
No! Not his Mickey, although I would like to see Chicago.
Head over to Chicagoist for the full story.

LOVE YOU!
Mom :)

You are Stardust! You are whimsical, creative, and
spirited. You might be seen as naive and
foolhardy, which is a little true, but it can
also be called bravery. Youre idealistic and
people might think youre a little off because
you talk about some strange things. You
probably love nature, whether its you love
animals, nature walks or just admiring it from
afar. Youre a creative person and like to write
short stories or poems and draw and paint. You
have a sly, self-depreciating sense of humor
and are a blast to be with because of your
adventurous personality.

At the moment I am pondering what I shall do with my weekend.
My blog is due for another post; I need a good, long walk on the nature trails, and I am in desperate need of a trim.
Where does my time go?
The pundits say that the dog is unaware of time. Be it a minute or an hour, it is just a wag of a tail.
How I wish that were true!
My day is consumed with obligations and a personal quest for Enlightenment. Will I ever find my role in life? Will the perfect toy find its way into my paws? How can I convince my family that biscuits should be made from scratch, no matter the time constraints?
I am the owner of three dog beds; one is the office, another on my chair in the living room and the third in the family room. None of these has ever provided me with the perfect nap. That can only be had when I am in the lap of one of my humans, and the whole family —including Gimlet and Joe the Cat —are together in contemplation at the end of a long and luxurious day.
You see, I do know the value of time, and it is not to be wasted.
Enjoy yourselves now.

DJ is for D'Artagnan Jr, since he reminded us so much of D'Artagnan. He's almost housebroken and it's been less than a week. He went shopping last night at Petsmart, I think for a few minutes he thought I was bringing him back. He loved all the attention, but was a little shy with some people.
If you can, fostering a dog has so far been a wonderful experience. Okay,so it's a little painful as it tugs at my heart, but I try to remember what his life would have been like if he hadn't been rescued and subsequently fostered, so it's best to foster, let them move on to furever homes and make room to save another. I keep telling myself that anyway....
so.....C'MON! GET SOME ENTRIES IN HERE! I'm sure y'all had some really creative reasons for naming your pups what you did, or send a post with a picture, keep the dogs going!
Thanks :)
I was happy with the Survivor outcome. I know there are a a lot of Rupert fans out there, but I think he's a bully. Nice enough guy, but still, a bully. The gossip corroborates this, says he's more "bear" than "teddy bear". There's just something about him, in all fairness, it could be the editing. I never really liked Shiiann until the jury spoke to Rob and Amber, I think she, Jenna and Richard Hatch have the best grasp on what the game is really about and I think Jenna is just an exceptional person.
"24" - seems like a lot of people think last's night's episode was one of the best, sorry I can't agree. Why would Jack want Michelle to go back? Why not go to her since she knew Saunders was there and the likelyhood of him showing up at the exchange was slim. Which brings us to why did Saunders even go to the exchange. And in the previews, they show Jack threatening to send Jane into the infected hotel...well I thought if that weeks (or in the shows timeline, hours ago), so why didn't Jack?
It's been thunderbooming for about an hour here.....
Seems fitting that we would get an E-mail Friday night asking us if we'd foster a puppy. We've done overnight's but never fostered. We went Saturday night and picked him up, he's adorable! We don't have a name for him yet, but we're working on it!

Thanks very much to everyone who has participated!
Next week how 'bout telling us how you and your four legged friend came to be a family? Did you pick him/her out, or did they pick you?
Send e-mails to Mickey
Here we go! Please spread the word and if you'd like to join us, just send me an E-mail
Starting off with Jay, since this was his wonderful idea :)
New editions!
Jonathan from Dogsnot Diaries sent his via E-mail, so I'm making it a separate post here and adding the pictures he sent
I had first pick of a litter of chocolate labs. I visited those pups every week from the time they were born, trying to decide which one I wanted. It's tough, believe me. When you're looking at 8 puppies, they all look so darn cute, and you really don't care which one you take home, you just want to grab one and run.
Well, time after time, a pup named "Milo" was always awake when I got there, and would always come to me, chew on my shoe laces and reek havoc while his brothers and sisters were sleeping. Now I've read dozens of books on dogs and picking the right one, and they all say that you shouldn't take the puppy that is the most active. Supposedly, they are the hardest to train, and believe that they are your master instead of vice versa. Ain't that the truth.
I obviously opted for Milo, now named Chase, and he has been a handful since I picked him up on that snowy evening, and took him plowing all night with me. No regrets, I love him to death.
This is a pic of him with his brother, Tucker. They are inseparable.

Jay, over at Accidental Verbosity gave me a great idea. There's Carnival of the Cats, now, there's Carnival of the Dogs. I invite everyone to submit a blog post about their pups. I figure I spend plenty of time around mine own and the ones that we rescue and honestly, it might generate more traffic and more people will see the rescue pups.
Thanks Jay!
Please send the link for your post to me at Mickey and I'll be posting them on Saturday. If it takes off, then maybe we'll have a theme each week in which we can write about and have pictures of our four legged friends. Thanks!

D'Artagnan and Aeryn Sun are looking forward to meeting your pups!

Went to see Mean Girls last night, seemed appropriate after dealing with one at work Friday night. I hate back stabbers. If you can't talk to someone about it, why bring it up behind their back? If you don't like something someone did,or you think it was wrong, have the balls to say so or fuck off.
Here's a review for Mean Gilrs - 'Mean Girls' Claws Way to Top of Box Office
And we saw The Punisher Somebody had an awful lot of fun being sadistic and blowing things up! Good movie. Thomas Jane looked great too.
I think tomorrow is going to be Weight Watcher day. And Curves,I'm tired of not being in great shape.
It's always kinda freaky when your horoscope seems appropriate -

There are a hundred ways into indecision, but there's only one way out. Unless you have a Cubist perspective, staring something in the face is as simple and direct as you can get. The hardest part may be finding the courage or knowing when the moment is right. When your decision effects others, they might suffer if you choose purely out of self-interest. On the other hand, you might be the only one who's putting yourself under so much pressure. It could be another day or so before you're back to your usual proactive self. Try to be patient.
