How Old Is Your Inner Child:

My inner child is ten years old today

My inner child is ten years old!

The adult world is pretty irrelevant to me. Whether
I'm off on my bicycle (or pony) exploring, lost
in a good book, or giggling with my best
friend, I live in a world apart, one full of
adventure and wonder and other stuff adults
don't understand.

How Old is Your Inner Child?
brought to you by Quizilla

It's almost frightening how true this is!

Schwarzenegger Wants Strays Killed Faster

Calif. - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (news - web sites) wants to repeal a state law that requires animal shelters to hold stray dogs and cats for up to six days before killing them.

Monk

Monk had it's best season opener yet. I was less than thrilled with this episode. Yes, the cast is great, but the writing left a little to be desired. And I was surprised that they let a major faux pas slip by. In the begining of the episode shots ring out and I was pleased to see everyone hit the ground, Monk included. However, a few seconds later, there's Monk standing upright so that the bad guy could brush into him and knock him down. One second he's checking luggage and hits the ground, next frame he's checking luggage and being slammed into.

Reminds me of the episode where Monk was pursuing a murderer who happened to be a TV detective and Monk visited the set while they were filming. Monk kept interrupting, wanting each scene to be perfect, right down to every itty bitty detail....where was Monk when this was allowed to go through? *G*

Wonderfalls

Ok....who were the idiots who canceled this show? How could they have access to the entire series and fail to see it's brilliance?

The writingis suberb, the acting fantastic, what were they missing? I'm so tired of shows like Wonderfalls and Firefly not being given the chances that they deserve. Gee and it was Fox who canceled them both.

We've seen almost all the episodes and they are amazing.

The good news is, that you can purchase Firefly on DVD and it's being made into a BDM (Big Damn Movie) with all of the BDH (Big Damn Heroes)

And Wonderfalls has a tentative DVD release date of December 7.

Graham Norton

Now, here's a guy who hasn't any problems at all talking about penises, his or Colin Farrell's I'm sure.

Graham Norton!

He's coming to "the states" and I only hope they don't water down his show or try to Americanize it for the people "they" think live in the US who can't appreciate British humor or humour and/or don't have a tolerance for openly gay, delightfully funny British guys. Change the channel and leave the good stuff for the rest of us then, please :) (see....I said - p l e a s e.)

Coming to Comedy Central June 24th 10PM EST All those in favor, tune in!

The Family Guy

There used to a nice picture of Stewie here, but bandwidth thieves caused me to have to take it down.

Beginning July 7, TBS will add the animated off-net series Family Guy to its primetime lineup, airing back to back eps from 8-9pm (as it continues to air on Cartoon Network). At 9pm will be back to back Seinfeld eps followed by S#x and the City. Family Guy is also slated to return to Fox primetime schedule with new episodes in mid-season 2004-05.

Yeah, right

University of Colorado President Hoffman says slur can be "term of endearment"

But, the spokesperson said, because Hoffman is a medieval scholar, she is aware of the long history of the word. She said it was not always a negative term.

Yeah well, the swastika didn't always represent what it does now and a lot of people take issue with the pentagram. But, we're talking about the here and now and I think a lot has to do with intent, not mere meaning. A lot of words have double meanings, it's all in the intent.

Someone please give me one example of when this word would be as an endearment? I not shy, nor naive and most of the time I'm told that my mind is in the gutter, honestly I have a summer home there, but never, never have I heard anyone use this word as an endearment. Even if you put "sexy" or "beautiful" or "you have the best in the world" in front of it, it ain't happening.

C U Next Tuesday Ms Hoffman.

Update - I ran this past a few guys at work last night - overall reaction - "Yeah, right!"

An interesting read about the weight-loss industry.

10 Secrets of the Weight-Loss Industry

Millions of us succumb to quick-fix claims such as "Eat all you want and still lose weight" or "Melt away fat while you sleep." We find it hard to believe in this age of scientific breakthroughs and medical miracles that an effortless weight-loss method doesn't exist. But it doesn't.

Carnival of the Dogs - Week 6

I've received two late entries for the Carnival :)

Happy dogs

Ginger

And this is what I'm adding for this week

An old man remembered his dog, that special little pup he'd brought up, trained and nurtured - that had rode 'shotgun' in his car, that watched every move the master made - with protective eye and loving concern.

Well, one day that pup became an oldie, and when the time came that those old joints could hardly move any more - death finally came and took that old faithful pet away from the man .
Seasons passed, and one night the old man took leave of his old body too. He started his journey on a pathway that was filled with light, where his feet seemed to move with ease again.

A little way up and he was overcome with ecstatic joy when he saw an animal sitting there waiting, and realised that it was his old dog!! The dog was young again in form and they recognized each other. The dog had waited on the road to greet his master, and shone with love for the man!!
They fell into each other's loving embrace (as a dog embraces) and happily strolled together again, found again.

Along the path, they came across a gleaming archway, where underneath stood majestically, a diamond studded gate. That gate opened, and what looked like a cloud in the shape of a man in a hooded robe emerged ........

"Come into these gates, you have reached heaven" said the spirit.
"Er....oh....I am entering into heaven?" he asked, "my dog is here with me, we would love to come in."

"You may enter, but this is not the place for a dog - they cannot come through these gates, only you may enter"

The man thought hard, deeply perplexed and confused...but looked down at his faithful pal and replied "I think I'll keep walking, I can't leave my pup"

They continued further on up the road, now a little saddened by the experience back at the beautiful gates.

Then, they eventually saw an old rickety wooden gate, overgrown grass surrounded it, and with...well it looked like an old farmer, chewing on a straw and stroking his hairy chin. "Hey there wanderers," said the grey old farmer "come on in, this is heaven you have come to"

"But....." said the man, again somewhat confused "......the last place we came to had gleaming gates, golden arches, and the spirit at the gate said THAT was heaven also....... but they wouldn't let my faithful dog in through the gates"

"Well fellow, your dog is welcome in here, in fact we want that you enter into this place and be free to play and roam, together"
"...but you are lucky you didn't go through those other gates, that was hell".

"But it looked so incredible, and I wanted to go in - except not without my trusty friend here" he responded incredulously.

The man pulled the straw from his mouth; "No place that doesn't allow you to come with your dog could be Heaven"

They'll be looking for seven castaways, each one personifying an original Gilligan's Island character - skipper, first mate, movie star, mid-western farm girl, millionaire couple and a professor. In this rendition, as in the original, the seven will work together to try and get off the island, and deal with various situations as they are presented to them - situations based on the original show.

My Carnival Entry

This is where DJ came from and where his sister was still living. Thankfully, the family has agreed to let her leave and come up here and join the rest of her siblings. I think people do the best they can, so I'm not going to criticize. I do think people should be more concious of spaying and neutering their animals so that these poor animals don't have to live in an envirionment like this. A couple of pieces of wood and yard debris thown together and a bowl of water (hopefully that's what that is) left out isn't what they deserve.

I recently saw a comment where the poster implied that puppies get adopted, well, sorry to burst that bubble, but they don't always. Many, many times in southern portions of the US, they are being destroyed. And for some odd reason, it's been said that black dogs aren't as quickly adopted as other dogs, whether they be pups or older. Possibly because they don't photograph as well, I don't know. There are only many people to go around that want cute little puppies that aren't pure bred.

I've heard it said more than once - "Oh, I could never foster because I'd want to keep them all!" Well, this is exactly the kind of person who should foster someone who just loves the little critters! Try to think of it this way, if you adopt then you may not have room to save the next one, everyone that passes through your home is a save, so instead of saving just one, you can save lots more and get them off to a good and stable start making them a better candidate to behave well in their new homes. If you have the room in your home and your hearts, try it :)
