Quiet weekend

Wow, what a quiet weekend! I even went out looking and it seems that very few are posting this weekend. I, unfortunately, have to work today. I detest working Sundays. I haven't done it in forever, but it's a payback for the wedding. Luckily, we have unlimited switches at work which allows us to switch shift other coworkers, of course it's always great when you're off, but naturally sucks when you have to pay it back! LOL! It is, however, nice to work a different shift once in a while and see how things go there. It's funny how it can be one department, but each shift seems to run independent of itself with it's own little "rules" and ways of doing things, naturally all the "big stuff" is set in stone, but what mids may do because of time issues, evenings may not be able to do etc etc. I could go to any shift, but I've always liked mids, being a night person it suits me in that respect. Days always gave me a headache and I hate getting up early and evenings, you always felt like you were spending the day waiting to go to work and watching the clock. I find myself doing that today.

I don't know if everyone is under the weather this week like we were, but Dexter and Sasha are looking fine (despite the wall) and weighing in for this week's Carnival!

***The ASPCA has posted their TOP 10 SAFETY TIPS FOR PET PARENTS

I think we all know that chocolate is a no no, but too often in my line of work when it comes to fireworks and Halloween, I hear things like, "Oh no, my dog ever runs out when we open the door!" "License? Tags....no..." I noticed myself the other day that I need to get new tags for the dogs because their tags have the old phone number on them, we went all cellular here, so I need to take care of this myself. As much as your pooch likes seeing the kids all dressed up, just in case, add a leash when opening the door if you want them to be an official greeter. Too many people out there and too many cars driving slow with parents watching their children going door to door and not watching for a darting dog. Some how I get they feeling that not a sinle one of you needs any of this advice though :)

Long Distance Marriages

There's something to be said for long distance marriages when you're sick. I don't want anyone around when I'm sick and since my husband is presently about 560 miles away, that's a good thing. I don't feel any guilt anout wanting the bed to myself or not being able to keep up on the housework,

Sadly, the entire household is sick and that does suck. Better that we all get sick in shifts I think so that there's at least one person willing to go out and replenish the chicken soup from Wawa.

I remember reading an article one time about the difference between a cold and the flu, but naturally, I don't remember the details, but I'm thinking we may have all had the flu. I think a fever had something to do with the flu.....but, I could be wrong. I feel bad too because the dogs suffer when we're all sick, no one was really up to play time and the poor dogs sense that something is wrong and naturally want to plant themselves in your lap and lick your already slobby face, This usually results in a loud "EWWWW" from the human being accosted. The kittens however were quite thrilled to have me spending so much time in the room and in the bed, so they can play jungle gyn with me.

Hope everyone else is feeling well!

Flickr

Yes, I'm addicted! Even more so now I think because two of my pictures made it to the Flickr Explore page! Yes, it's impolite to brag, I know, but I'm so excited! I love, love love taking pictures and I'm just glad that these were found interesting enough over at Flickr to be thought that interesting.
