Carnival of the Dogs

This week's Carnival is dedicated to best pals - Bogey and Oscar. Their running pain free now in Heaven. Please stop by, read their stories and say "Hi" to their parents, who've taken a pretty hard hit losing two of their family members.

News

We've become affiliates of 1-800-PET MEDS - why? Because it might help to defray the cost of a few things. One, the stray cat that we've been tending to up on the property in Maine. I'd like to see her trapped and spayed this spring and returned to her natural environment. Some of you know that we took in two of her kittens and placed the other two. After over $500.00 of medical care, including a full cost neuter and complications for Buster, I was able to get Desi spayed through the local Animal Birth Control organization. So yes, every little bit helps around here :)

If you use their site - please use this link and the small commission will go to us, thanks!!

My Birthday!

COOL MySpace Comments

hehe....wishing myself a Happy Birthday!

So, what happened allllllllllll those years ago on the day I was born??

Starting with the personal stuff, my poor husband was an unsuspecting 9 year old, living alllllllllllll the way up in Maine, while I was being born in NY. I wonder if he twitched a little?

I was my father's fifth child and my mother's third, the last for both. My parents decided they would be unconventional, well, really, I don't know what they were thinking, but they put Ann and Marie together, I suppose so I could spend the rest of my life saying, "No, all one word, no, no E in the middle, yes, E on the end. No, 2 N's , 1 M. No, it's a small M. Right, that's it.

I've lived my entire life on the East Coast, NJ, NY and Maine.
I have a wonderful son, step-son and step-daughter and of course a great husband. 6 dogs and 6 cats.

According to Answers.com for April 3 this was what was up in the world when I was born -

1860 - The first successful Pony Express run from Saint Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California begins, and is completed on April 13.

1953 - TV Guide debuts.

**1956 - Elvis Presley sings "Heartbreak Hotel" on the Milton Berle Show, with an estimated 25% of the United States population viewing.

1973 - The first portable cell phone call is placed in New York City. (Hey! My first year in NYC! - no It wasn't me!)

I had a good day, thanks everyone :)
